The Grand Palace

Wat Pho

Just a short walk from the Grand Palace lies Wat Pho, one of the oldest and largest temples in Bangkok. Its most famous attraction is the Reclining Buddha, an enormous gilded statue that stretches 46 meters in length and is covered in gold leaf. The soles of the Buddha’s feet are inlaid with intricate mother-of-pearl designs representing auspicious symbols and spiritual truths.

Rising 45 meters above the Nakkerd Hills, the Big Buddha is one of Phuket’s most important and awe-inspiring monuments. Made of white Burmese marble, the statue exudes a peaceful presence that can be felt from miles away. Wat Chalong
